A $100 "Spurs Bat Game" Parlay Would Win $2,100

Saturdays Are For The Bats this past weekend in San Antonio. For the first time in almost 5 years the Spurs had a bat delay when a furry flyer had his echolocation mistaken Victor Wembanyama's forehead for a treetop that he could perch for the night. The Spurs' Coyote mascot was somehow immediately dressed for the occasion in full Batman garb, sprinting onto the court with a giant dog-catching net, and wrangled the bat home for his 3rd all-time bat grab.

The delay occurred only a minute after tip off, but history told us the game was already over. Since Manu Ginobili (who was in the crowd Saturday) famously swatted a winged rodent right out of the air on Halloween 2009, there have been 7 other reported sightings of bats in the Spurs arena either pregame or in-game. The San Antonio Spurs are a perfect 8-0 in these "Bat Games."

Now obviously hindsight is 20/20 and keeping a parlay open for 15 years is downright impossible, but if Marty McFly could find a very patient bookie on All Hallow's Eve 2009 then Sunday morning he would've finally reaped the fruits of his labor. For every $100 wagered on the Spurs Bat Game Parlay, McFly could've netted over $2,100. Inflation alone over the course of a decade and a half would make this parlay worth well below a minimum wage job, but there's no price on the satisfaction of cashing in an 8-leg, 15 year parlay when the Western Conference's worst team beats its best team all because Bruce Wayne left a gate open.
